Family Therapy
Family therapy that breaks patterns
and brings connection.
Working with families can produce some of the most significant change available through the therapeutic process. We understand how interconnected we are and address the roles and dynamics that keep us stuck and away from the love and connection that is available to us when a system is free to operate with presence and honesty.
The Process
What to Expect
Understanding the System
First sessions help us understand the system and the parts. We clarify patterns that are disrupting connection and help you start to understand why some of the current challenges continue to repeat. This understanding helps family members begin to hear one another and practice more honest dialogue.
Honesty and Communication
We work at a pace that facilitates change and safety. We help everyone speak with less defense and more honesty. We move out of old roles and consider what works for each person and the system as a whole.
Difference and Evolution
This work will not result in the perfect family. It will result in a system that can adapt and evolve with flexibility, empathy, and love.

Frequently Asked
It depends on what we're working on. We'll talk through your family's dynamics during the consultation and decide together who should attend. Sometimes that means all members; sometimes it's subsets at different stages of the work.
Ideally, yes — but it's not always necessary. Sometimes even one motivated family member can shift the system. We can also coordinate individual work for some members while doing family sessions with others.
Not at all. Many families come in to work through long-standing dynamics, intergenerational patterns, or major transitions (divorce, illness, life-stage shifts). Family therapy is just as valuable for proactive work as it is for crisis.
Yes — this is some of our most meaningful work. Adult family relationships often carry years of unresolved history that benefits from being addressed directly in a structured, safe setting.
Couples therapy focuses on one relationship; family therapy works with the whole system — including the patterns inherited across generations. The methods overlap, but family therapy adds the complexity of multiple relationships, roles, and histories.
